The Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition, is an annual contest for photomicrographs, or images taken through a microscope. Here are few of the winners.

This photograph of crystallized soy sauce magnified 16 times won 10th place. It was taken by Yanping Wang of the Beijing Planetarium in Beijing, China.

This photograph of Tortula papillosa moss magnified 20 times was awarded an Image of Distinction. It was taken by Christian Gautier of the Biosphoto Agency in Le Mans, France.
